Important Information to Customers and Users

From 11:59pm on Tuesday 7th September, all of New Zealand outside of Auckland moves to Covid Alert Level 2 (L2). Port Marlborough has moved all its operational protocols in line with L2 requirements. Please note the following.

Business at Alert Level 2

During L2 most businesses can open their premises or sites if they can do so safely. Recreational boating is permitted under L2 and Marlborough Sounds Marinas continues to open all marina facilities. The government advises that L2 is not entirely business as usual and there are some restrictions and other measures that will need to be in place to reduce the risk of transmission.

Here are the Government’s rules for business in L2:

  • Reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission at work.
  • All businesses can operate if they can do so safely. Alternative ways of working are encouraged where possible.
  • Talk with your staff to identify risks and ways to manage them.
  • Ask everyone — workers, contractors and customers — with cold or flu-like symptoms to stay away from your premises.
  • Keep workers 1 metre apart and customers in retail businesses 2 metres apart.
  • Keep groups of customers at least 1 metre apart, or 2 metres for retail businesses.
  • Face Coverings are legally mandated in many situations and are strongly encouraged when physical distancing is not possible.
  • Businesses are legally required to display a QR code and provide an alternative contact tracing system.
  • Face coverings are strongly encouraged if you are in close contact with others.
  • Reduce the number of shared surfaces, and regularly disinfect them.
  • Wash your hands. Wash your hands. Wash your hands.
