Our Commitment

We are committed to ensuring the health and safety of all people entering or working at our port, in our marinas and on board our vessels. In everything we do, we prioritise the Port Marlborough core value of Hauora – we work together to sustain what keeps us healthy. In demonstrating our commitment we will:

  • Protect our people’s health against harm. We do this by managing our workplace risks, and taking opportunities to optimise the wellbeing of our people.
  • Ensure that workers and their representatives are engaged and participate actively in all elements of our health and safety management system.
  • Monitor and continually improve the performance of our land-side and marine health and safety management systems.
  • Continue to support government agencies in the protection of the New Zealand maritime border from COVID-19.
  • Comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015, Maritime Transport Act 1994 and adhere to codes of practice relevant to our industry including the Port & Harbour Safety Code.
  • Consult, cooperate and coordinate with businesses that we share a workplace with to make sure our overlapping health and safety duties are met.
  • Develop our culture to support an integrated and preventative approach to health and safety.
