Rhys Welbourn appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer

The Chairman of Port Marlborough NZ Ltd, Ed Johnson has announced the appointment of Rhys Welbourn to the role of Chief Executive Officer. He will replace current CEO Ian McNabb who is retiring at the end of the year.

Rhys is currently the Manager Business Delivery with Port Marlborough, and has a strong background in the port industry.

Mr Johnson noted the strong interest in the position, which attracted candidates from across New Zealand and internationally.

"Rhys' experience coupled with his strong understanding of the port company’s existing business, customers and opportunities provide clear advantage as he takes on this role.

"We congratulate Rhys on his appointment and look forward to working with him when he takes over the role in late December."

Mr Johnson said that the retiring CEO's significant contribution to the port over the last ten years will be appropriately recognised later this year.
