Important Information to Customers and Users From midday on Wednesday 12 August, the Auckland Super City area moved to Alert Level 3 (L3) and the rest of New Zealand moved to Alert Level 2 (L2). Port Marlborough has moved all its operational protocols in line with L2 requirements.

Picton Ferry Precinct Redevelopment Project included in Fast-track Consenting Legislation

Port Marlborough and KiwiRail have welcomed the inclusion of the Picton Ferry Precinct Redevelopment Project in the COVID-19 Recovery (Fast Track Consenting) Bill which is due to be introduced to Parliament today. The legislation names 11 projects for fast-track consenting, including the ferry precinct redevelopment which is part of KiwiRail’s larger initiative to replace the current three-ferry Interislander fleet with two larger ships from 2024.

Port and marinas staff are working closely with the logistics team at the Ministry of Culture and Heritage to accommodate the visiting flotilla vessels for the upcoming Tuia 250 events. Port engineers are investigating the right locations and fit for the visiting vessels.
